After more than a year in operation, a Paru-like game has shut down

Today (the 31st), the simulation game *Mimimaha* released an announcement regarding the termination of its service. Starting at 11:00 a.m. on August 31, new user registration will be closed across all platforms,Starting September 30, download links will be disabled across all platforms, and the game will officially cease operations at 11:00 a.m. on November 30, 2026.

"Mimimaha" launched its open beta on July 24, 2025. The game was developed by Qutang Studio. In terms of gameplay, it aims to combine elements of "Animal Crossing" and "Paru: The Phantom Beast."Players take on the role of “Dreamers,” piloting flying houses through the sea of clouds to manage their own floating islands, where they can clear land, grow flowers and vegetables, and build houses alongside the Mims.

The game development company Qutang Network was founded in 2022 by Zheng Zhouri, the producer of *Moore Manor*, and has received investment from FunPlus.

Thanks to its adorable art style, *Mimimaha* was highly anticipated by female players. Shortly after its launch, the game enlisted Xiao Yao San Ren to perform its theme song, sparking a buzz online and briefly reaching No. 1 on the App Store’s Free Chart.

It seems like a game that few players will miss, and there had been signs for some time that it would shut down. Since the open beta launched, the gameplay experience has been consistently poor, with many players stating, “I kept running back and forth to complete quests, but I never really understood what was going on—I uninstalled it after playing for half a day.”

The remaining players also began leaving the game early this year. This was triggered by reports of phased layoffs at the company just three months after the launch of *Mimimaha*.In early January of this year, several art outsourcing companies filed lawsuits against Shanghai Qutang Network. On January 12, Shanghai Qutang Network officially filed for bankruptcy reorganization.

As previously reported by Tea House, in February, founder Zheng Zhouri joined NetEase’s Eggy Studio, where he is responsible for secondary gameplay features on the *Eggy Party* project team.
