As an innovative game that blends 2D anime art style with tactical shooting elements, "Carabichu" has attracted significant attention from players since its announcement.Throughout the development process, Tencent Cloud, as a key technical partner of DreamSky, provided comprehensive technical support spanning from development to launch. In particular, the deep involvement of the AI code assistant significantly boosted the project team’s R&D efficiency, helping the game launch on schedule and delivering a faster content experience to players.
*Carabichu* is a self-developed shooter project that DreamSky has been focusing on in recent years. The mobile version builds on the PC version’s strong global reputation and technical foundation. The game’s “String Transformation” mechanic allows characters to switch freely between 3D and 2D forms, creating a unique “flat character” tactical gameplay experience. This mechanic not only enhances the strategic depth of combat but also offers players a completely new control experience.Furthermore, as one of the earliest titles in China to blend anime-inspired themes with tactical shooting, the game features a rich character system and a variety of tactical accessories, satisfying players’ desire for personalization and strategic depth.
During the game development phase, the *Carabichu* project team adopted Tencent Cloud’s AI code assistant, CodeBuddy. By leveraging Tencent’s large-scale model capabilities, the team achieved end-to-end coverage of features such as code completion, unit testing, and logic diagnostics in their daily development workflows. Over 70% of the engineers on the *Carabichu* mobile game project team utilize AI for daily development, with AI-generated code accounting for more than 30% of the total.In the past, when writing a skill effect, programmers had to manually type out every step of the logic; now, AI can automatically complete common code structures. CodeBuddy has effectively alleviated development pressures in multi-person collaboration, helping the team reduce repetitive work and improve code quality during the construction of complex mechanics and version updates. Overall development efficiency has increased by more than 10%, enabling the game to launch on schedule.
In addition to leveraging AI capabilities, Tencent Cloud provided comprehensive end-to-end services for the mobile game *Kara Pichu*, covering performance support, security protection, and game quality optimization. In terms of performance, Tencent Cloud deployed cost-effective cloud server resources combined with the UE DS architecture to meet the combat servers’ requirements for high computing power and low latency, ensuring smooth gameplay for players.Through the WeTest platform, the project team completed multiple rounds of performance, compatibility, and localization testing prior to launch, laying the groundwork for optimizations in future versions. Regarding game security, Tencent Cloud’s ACE system leverages extensive experience in anti-cheat measures and intelligent detection mechanisms to build a multi-layered defense system against cheats and ensure content compliance, safeguarding a fair gaming environment for players.
Leveraging its global resource deployment and deep expertise in the gaming industry, Tencent Cloud continues to refine solutions for the entire gaming lifecycle, including development, operations, and publishing. During the 2025 Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Conference, Tencent Game Cloud unveiled a newly upgraded solution that fully integrates AI capabilities into game development, testing, publishing, and operations workflows. The initiative is dedicated to helping game companies improve efficiency, reduce costs, and create high-quality titles, thereby simplifying game development and operations.
