The latest installment in the *Life is Strange* series, *Life is Strange: Reunion*, was unexpectedly rated on the PEGI website today (the listing has since been removed), along with a game description and some leaked details. “Chloe Price is Max Caulfield’s companion through time… Losing her is Max’s greatest regret. Now Chloe has arrived at Caledon University. Haunted by nightmares and strange memories, Chloe needs Max’s help. But Max is already in crisis: in three days, a deadly fire will destroy the campus.” Also revealed is that the game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items, including new outfits and a Digital Deluxe Edition, a feature first introduced in *Life is Strange: Double Exposure*.Such detailed revelations didn’t come out of nowhere. Further updates may be announced at tomorrow’s New Game Plus Showcase or during the Xbox showcase on January 27 (Doubles Exposure also debuted at an Xbox event). Either way, Max and Chloe’s journey will finally reunite them a decade later!

Deck Nine’s attempts to string fans along in its previous title, *Double Exposure*, coupled with the narrative’s glaring flaws, dashed the hopes of countless fans for a reunion between the two protagonists. The dismal sales figures and mixed reviews also proved that what players wanted wasn’t a simplistic, superficial story about strange superpowers, but rather for a girl who travels through time and her blue-haired, rebellious partner to continue their lives together.*Double Exposure* didn’t give players a choice. Although Max reconnected with Chloe at the end, had it not been for the dismal sales, this approach—where the development team forced their artistic vision onto players—would likely not have led to a “reunion.” The official announcement of the new game proves that the *Life is Strange* IP hasn’t been buried by this setback; Max’s story continues.

It has been confirmed that the previously reported Prime Video TV series adaptation of *Life is Strange* will cover the story of the original game, and the new installment will also center on Max and Chloe. This suggests that, whether for financial reasons or in response to fan feedback, Square Enix and Deck Nine have finally shifted their focus back to these characters. Whether players will trust them one more time remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: *Life is Strange: Reunited* is definitely not a scam. We look forward to more news this year, along with updates on the TV series.
